There are many different organizations
that have benefited from the hiring of union contractors. Those union contractors will utilize
the services of the membership of the laborers. By doing so, the laborers are able to
donate their time and funds to organizations that are important to them. The laborers of Local 603 are a civic
minded organization. The Laborers are the only construction
union that has a payroll deduction for the United Way.
We are very proud and
honored to have been able to give to all of them. Without the cooperation
and foresight of the business owners that expanded their business or built new
structures and awarded these projects to union contractors, none of this would
have been possible. We would like to thank you on behalf of the union, the
contractors and especially our benefactors.
There are many well established contractors in our area that have been signatory with the Laborer's Trade Union for most of their existence. Developing solid relationships between business owners, union representatives, workers and developers is their challenge for continued success. The signatory contractors are to be commended for this effort. Without their cooperation and trust organized labor would have difficulty maintaining a trained, qualified work force in this area. The Laborers recognize this and would like to thank these contractors for employing us throughout the many years of our existence.
